Fundamental 2021

Symbiosis Institute of Design's annual fest, 'Fundamental,' was organized and run by students online due to the pandemic. The theme chosen was a retro vibe with surreal elements, using vintage posters as inspiration. The fest's mascot, Elmar, was redrawn to match the theme, modeled after 1930's cartoons from 'Fleischer Studios.' Techniques were incorporated to give a modern twist to the retro style, with maximalist and illustration-heavy visuals featuring saturated colors and more texture.
